A delicious dish featuring tender marinated beef rib eye tossed in a hot pan, served with fresh veggies and a tangy dressing.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb boneless beef rib eye, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 10 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 5 tablespoons soy sauce, divided
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 red onion, sliced into rings
  • 2 bunches watercress
  • 3 roma tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prep the Beef: In a large bowl, combine the beef with minced garlic, brown sugar, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Make the Dressing: Mix together granulated sugar, white vinegar, water, and remaining 2 tablespoons soy sauce in a small bowl.
  3. Get the Veggies Ready: Prep the watercress, slice the tomatoes, and cut the red onion. Arrange on a serving platter.
  4. Cook the Beef: Heat canola oil in a pan over high heat. Sear the marinated beef, shaking or stirring to caramelize all sides without overcooking.
  5. Assemble and Serve: Place the beef on the veggie platter, drizzle with dressing, garnish with cilantro, and serve with rice.

Notes

Use high heat for caramelization and avoid overcrowding the pan when cooking the beef.
