A delightful loaf of bread infused with maple flavors, soft and pillowy in texture, perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup maple sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup Vermont maple cream
  • 1/4 cup natural maple flavor
  • 1/4 cup walnut pieces

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, maple sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add the warmed milk and melted butter; mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it’s smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until it doubles in size, about 60 minutes.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread the maple cream evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with natural maple flavor and walnuts.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log.
  8. Shape the log into a ring and place it into a Pullman loaf pan.
  9. Let it rise again until it doubles in size, about 60 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake for 36 to 42 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Cool the bread before slicing. Serve with maple syrup or turn it into French toast.

Notes

For storage, wrap tightly in plastic or keep in an airtight container. Can be frozen for up to three months.
