A delightful shrimp and crab pasta dish with a creamy Cajun sauce, combining ocean flavors in a zesty, savory meal that’s easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp (cleaned and deveined)
  • 8 ounces linguine
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Chopped parsley (a few sprigs)
  • 1 Roma tomato (finely diced)
  • ¼ cup Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the cleaned shrimp dry with a paper towel, then season with salt, pepper, and ½ teaspoon of Cajun seasoning.
  2. Cook the linguine according to package instructions and set aside.
  3. Heat a large pan over medium heat and add the oil and butter.
  4. Place the shrimp in a single layer, adding the minced garlic. Cook for 2 minutes, flip, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Pour in the half-and-half and add the Parmigiano Reggiano. Bring to a gentle boil, whisking continuously for about 2 minutes.
  6. Turn off the heat and add the cooked pasta to the pan.
  7. Stir in the diced tomato, chopped parsley, and remaining Cajun seasoning.
  8. Squeeze in the lemon juice if desired, and mix everything well. If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of half-and-half.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure shrimp are fresh or properly thawed. Avoid overcooking the shrimp and adjust spice to preference. Consider adding red pepper flakes for extra heat.
