This quick tiramisu yule log cake is a delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert, combining coffee and chocolate flavors into a stunning holiday treat that is perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 4 tablespoons of coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 8 ounces of mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 package of ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  3. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until just combined.
  4. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring not to soak them.
  5. Lay half of the dipped ladyfingers in a single layer in a rectangular dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  7. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight.
  9. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings.

Notes

Make sure your coffee is cooled before dipping the ladyfingers to prevent sogginess. For a richer flavor, let the tiramisu sit overnight. Feel free to customize with chocolate layers or flavored liqueurs.
