  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup 2% milk
  • 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup brickle toffee bits
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and melt the cubed butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; stir in milk until smooth. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
  3. Sprinkle chopped pecans, brown sugar, and toffee bits over the batter without mixing. Carefully pour boiling water on top without stirring.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the top is golden and set.
  5. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
