Description

Learn how to make delicious jarred peaches at home with just a few ingredients. Preserve the taste of summer for desserts, breakfasts, or snacks!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 pounds peaches (ripe but firm)
  • 10 cups water
  • 4 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peaches: Wash peaches thoroughly. Blanch in boiling water for 30-60 seconds, then transfer to an ice bath. Peel off the skins.
  2. Slice and pit: Cut peaches in half or smaller slices and remove the pits.
  3. Make the syrup: Combine water and sugar in a large pot, heating until the sugar fully dissolves.
  4. Fill jars: Pack peaches into sterilized jars. Pour hot syrup over the peaches, leaving about ½ inch of headspace. Remove air bubbles.
  5. Seal and process: Wipe jar rims clean, add lids, and place jars in a boiling water canner. Process for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Cool and store: Let jars cool until sealed. Check seals and store in a cool, dark place.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a cinnamon stick or a splash of vanilla to the syrup.
  • Always ensure jars are sterilized to avoid contamination.
