A creamy, cheesy, and savory dip made with ground beef, real cheddar cheese, and a touch of salsa. Perfect for game days, parties, or anytime you need a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil – Keeps the beef from sticking and adds a touch of flavor.
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef – The star of the show. Go for lean beef so your dip isn’t greasy.
  • 1/2 tsp. salt – Enhances the savory goodness.
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder – A little zing that balances everything out.
  • 3 Tbsp. flour – Helps thicken the sauce. Don’t skip this step!
  • 1 cup milk – Makes the dip creamy and smooth.
  • 1 cup salsa – Adds flavor, spice, and that tangy punch.
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese – Real cheddar. None of that processed stuff here.

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, salt, and garlic powder. Cook until browned, about 7–10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce Base: Sprinkle the flour over the beef, stir to coat, then slowly pour in the milk while stirring. Cook until thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Mix in Salsa and Cheese: Stir in the salsa and let it warm through. Add shredded cheddar cheese, one handful at a time, stirring until melted and smooth.
  4. Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl or keep warm in a slow cooker. Serve with chips, veggies, or breadsticks.

Notes

  • To spice things up, use a hot salsa or add a pinch of cayenne.
  • Keep the dip warm in a slow cooker for parties.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
