Fluffy and flavorful garlic bread rolls, perfect for any meal or gathering.

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 beaten egg (for brushing the tops)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for garlic butter)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (for garlic butter)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garlic butter)
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Lightly butter the bottom and sides of a 9×13 pan and set it aside.
  2. In a small pot, melt the 4 1/2 tablespoons of butter and add 2 tablespoons of minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Allow to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon of flour, 3 tablespoons parsley, 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast, and 1 teaspoon salt. Add warmed milk, 1 egg, and cooled garlic butter. Knead until smooth, about 10-12 minutes, adding flour if needed.
  4. Cut dough into 12 equal portions, shape each into a ball, and place in the prepared pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  6. Brush the tops of the rolls with beaten egg. Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, make garlic butter by melting 2 tablespoons of butter and adding 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Cook until fragrant, then stir in remaining parsley.
  8. Once rolls are baked, brush with garlic butter and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Serve warm!

Notes

For best results, ensure milk is at 110°F for yeast activation. If the dough is sticky, add flour slowly to maintain a soft texture.
