A delicious, easy-to-make low-carb pizza casserole that combines favorite pizza flavors into a hearty dish, perfect for meal prep or feeding a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free if preferred)
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers (optional)
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined and heated through.
  4. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the meat mixture. Then, add half of the pepperoni and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  5. If using vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms, layer them on top now. Repeat with the remaining meat, pepperoni, and cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add different spices or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top before baking. This dish can be customized with different toppings and can be made vegetarian.
