Decadent brownies topped with rich chocolate mousse, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and stir in both granulated and brown sugars until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually combine this mixture with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Allow them to cool completely.
  6. For the mousse, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until hot but not boiling. Pour it over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a few minutes. Stir until smooth, then let it cool slightly before spreading it over the cooled brownies.
  7. Top with chocolate ganache and chill in the fridge before serving. Once settled, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For enhanced flavor, use high-quality chocolate. Don’t skip the chilling step; it melds flavors beautifully.
