A rich and gooey dessert, this Chocolate Cobbler combines a fluffy cake topping with a luscious chocolate sauce. Serve it warm with ice cream for the ultimate treat!

Ingredients

Batter:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (because butter makes everything better)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ¼ cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt the butter in the dish while the oven preheats.
  3. Combine dry ingredients, then mix in the milk and vanilla. Pour over melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle topping ingredients evenly over the batter.
  5. Pour boiling water over the top without stirring.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is set and slightly crispy.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
