- ½ cup Dutch-process cocoa
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 6 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cocoa, flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, eggs, oil, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in ½ cup chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the pan and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
