Soft, moist, and loaded with chocolate chips, this Chocolate Chip Bread is the perfect dessert or snack for any time of day.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Dutch-process cocoa
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the cocoa, flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, eggs, oil, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in ½ cup chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the pan and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
