A comforting one-pot meal of ground beef, colorful vegetables, and elbow macaroni, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers (red and green)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 oz canned tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring salted water to a boil and cook elbow macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion and bell peppers to the skillet; sauté until tender (around 4-5 minutes).
  4. Stir in minced garlic, tomato sauce, and Worcestershire sauce; let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Mix in the cooked macaroni with the meat mixture until everything is well combined.
  6. Plate the American Chop Suey and sprinkle grated cheese on top if desired.

Notes

Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or zucchini for extra nutrition. Substitute with ground turkey for a lighter version.
